Character name: Xae’Anna Hapraan
Character Age: 29
Character Gender: Female
Race: ½ Betazoid, ½ Human/Romulan
Rank (if applicable): Lieutenant Commander
Ship: USS Lewis
Division: Medical/Sciences
Brief Description:
Xae’Anna is the ship’s counsellor on board the USS Lewis. She always has time for her crew and anyone else that has a problem. Her Betazoid physiology makes her perfect for helping people and understanding their problems. However, her mixed background has led to some issues within herself. She doesn’t publically acknowledge her Romulan genealogy, especially following the destruction of Vulcan.
Sample post (may be recycled):
From the Ultimate Buffy RP
Amalita sat in her car, books spread out on her lap and the passenger’s seat. Her eyes flitted behind glasses through the many references. She carefully turned each page of the texts, not wanting to risk any damage.
“…Genius loci…” she mumbled.
She knew the name, but her brain just wouldn’t give her the information she needed. She swept her hair to one side and rubbed her forehead.
Something was causing panic in the small village of Nolfini and she’d gone there to try help. She knew things weren’t as they seemed. She didn’t believe the presence to be evil. She usually didn’t though. She had good instincts and rarely judged without a reason.
“…pensare, pensare…” She flicked through her mental index of the supernatural. Then it dawned on her. The powerful magic in the area, all localised in one section of the village. “Of course..” She sighed, relieved, and leaned back into the chair a moment.
She reached out for one of the books and turned a few pages. She knew exactly the page she was looking for. She read quietly to herself, “…semi-sentient wellsprings of magical energy. This power almost never extends beyond the border of the genius loci… In most cases the intelligent, magical entity develops from the similarly named "spirit of place" over a great deal of time. In other settings, genius loci are formed by powerful magical events. Well, at least that’s cleared up.”
She was relieved to find it wasn’t someone working their magic on the village. It was the village’s power itself. It was just a little too powerful for such a small place. She pulled her cell phone from her jacket pocket and phoned her friend that had contacted her about their trouble. She explained to him what was going on and did her best to put him at ease.
After the call, she slipped her phone back into her pocket and carefully put away the books into her bag. She’d head back to the village tomorrow morning to see if there was anything she could do. But first she needed sleep after two solid days of research and investigation. Dedication was this woman’s middle name, after Melania.
